Grade 1- Maureen Hoard

Hi my name is Maureen Hoard and I am the first grade teacher at St. Casimir School.

This is my second year at this wonderful school. I have earned my Bachelor of Science in Early

Childhood Education with concentrations on Child Psychology and Dance. I live in Brookline,

NH with my husband and seven children. I love teaching first grade! When I am not at school I

enjoy cooking, hiking, reading, and spending time with my family.

The first graders at St. Casmir School have been very busy in October! We have been

learning how to pray the rosary together. The children look forward to this each week. In

English, we have been learning about common nouns, proper nouns, days of the week and

months of the year needing uppercase letters. In math, we are learning how to add doubles.

The students enjoy solving problems on the Star Board during math. Our class has been

working on our “Saintly scarecrow” of St. Christopher. It has been fun learning about this special

Saint. In November, we look forward to our food drive for Thanksgiving baskets and our bake

sale with raffle items. The proceeds from our bake sale and raffle will help to fund our field trip in the spring.                            2015                         © St Casimir School  - Manchester, NH
